Our founder, Eddie Jenkins, has spent 40+ years in the markets and grew up farming in Gympie. That knowledge – passed down through the family – is what sets us apart. We know produce, we know growers, and we know how to get you the best quality at the right price.
Our Story
Started by a Farmer, Run by a Family
The Farmer’s Gate started around 2008 when Eddie and his former boss decided to branch out on their own. Eddie brought decades of market experience and a farming background working with corn and dairy.
Fifteen years ago, Kylie joined the business when her first son was born, and it’s grown into a true family operation. Today, you’ll find Eddie, Kylie, her brother, sister-in-law, sister, son, nephew, and cousins all working together to keep the business running strong.
We’ve kept customers for the full 18 years we’ve been operating – not because we’re the cheapest, but because we treat people right. Relationships matter to us, from the farmers we buy from to the chefs and managers we deliver to. That’s how Dad ran things from the start, and it’s how we’ll keep running things.
